900 followers and What motivates me to blog

I just reached 900 followers.

To some this number may seem small but it means so much to me.

One sentence summarises my feeling when I look at my blogging journey so far.

I am Thankful.

I go by the Word of God which says, “Do not despise small beginnings.”

How do you keep going with your blog?

The answer:

I have not attended any workshop on blogging, or read any `how to’ books or articles but here is what I do:

1. I usually keep a diary and whenever I get an inspiring idea, I note it down.
2. I pray for wisdom and if I get a feeling that it is the right time, the right topic, the right season to share that particular message, I just go with it.
3. I wait to feel the peace and the inspiration to write and then go ahead.
4. I draw inspiration from daily moments, fun time with the family, celebrations, special occasions.
5. I also draw from past and present moments of frustration and hard times.
6. I ponder much from observing God’s creation, fussing over the beauty of flowers, studying the playfulness of pets, watching the beauty of the rains,  mesmerising sunsets,  a stunning rainbow and so much more.
7. I glean from anything that strikes an emotional chord, a creative muse, or an impactful moment.

Through it all,  I ask myself:

1. What have I learnt from this? 
2. What is life trying to teach?
3. What is God saying to me? 

When I find the wisdom that is inherent in each of these lessons, I begin to write, and these turn into an encouraging blog post or inspiring message uploaded onto my YouTube channel.

What motivates me to blog?

I think it is just wonderful, this whole blogging thing, especially when you have so many unique thoughts running in your mind.

You pray and know God is trying to say something and  tell someone it is going to be alright.

So, you write and share a message of Love.  

You express what is on your heart and mind.

And the message travels across unseen borders, to someone, sitting in some distant corner of the world, who right at that moment needed to hear that God loves them and that there is hope even in their difficult situation.

When your message reaches and touches someone and brings hope, you know your effort is worth it.

That to me, is what blogging is all about!

How I feel about the Word?                                                                                                 

It does not fail to amaze me how the Powerful Word of God has both, wisdom, and wit inherent in it.

I thank God for letting me use His Word and present it with a personal touch.

What I feel about my blog readers and followers?

I think Blogging is like a long journey.

It is filled with everything that makes up an adventure – careful planning, wilful effort, unexpected thrills, excitement, tiredness, relief, a few bumps, the sport of the speed, the delight of the highs, the frustration of some lows and then there is the most amazing take away from it all, the indescribable joy of receiving an update that shows “XXX followed your blog”.

It is the readers, the followers who make it all worthwhile.

They support you; they encourage you, they like, they comment, they recommend, they advise, they critique, they exhort, they request, they inspire and so much more.

On a personal note, I relate my followers to those awesome diners, cafés, and burger joints, places where you get to halt on your journey. Those places that offer a refreshing and much needed break that charges you to get back on your journey.

Today, as I I thank God for each of my readers and followers, let me also thank each of you for your time, your initiative to follow, to like, to comment and to encourage.

In turn, may you find encouragement in your own life, may the Lord protect you, guide you and look into the desires of your heart and bring them to pass.
