TheGodminute

A daily dose of God’s touch in a minute…

He said “I knew you would make it”

The tunnel was the only way before me

A dark narrow hollow tunnel

I walked alone

The more I  walked the more fearful it got

I wished I had a lamp a candle a torch

or someone alongside

May be there were,

many

each engaged, in finding their own way out,

so  it seemed

I stumbled

Feared much

Until a still little voice said ‘ This is the way, walk’

I chose to follow that faint whisper

No other choice

In that dark hour, was it wise to trust that faint voice?

Anything could happen

In that narrow dark hollow tunnel

But trust I did

The more I  trusted the more vigorously I walked

Though distractions and temptations caused me to disobey

that guiding voice

And disobey I did

My strength failed

Now stranded hopeless

in that narrow dark hollow tunnel

I decided to trust Him again

Soon my feet found new strength

I walked

Though fear still had it’s grip on me

I had no choice

I walked

stumbling  hurting

Broken

Bruised

I walked

And walked more

And when I  sensed someone standing  distantly ahead

I walked faster

I walked more

and more

A streak of light

It turned bright

brighter

indicating to me that I was out of the tunnel

the journey was done

that dark narrow and hollow journey

I didn’t think I could make it

I didn’t think I could make it!

I said repeatedly

Suddenly I heard someone cheering

It wasn’t exactly a teacher

Wasn’t exactly a preacher

It was more  like someone

who liked giving folks a pat on the back

a happy cheek peck

I could  sense in my heart what He said

He was like an audible whisper

A thunder

A glow

He said “I knew you would make it

I have put in you more than you know!

I was in a car accident when I was 11. I broke my jaw in 5 places. As I laid in the ambulance feeling terrified a heard a voice, it said “Jesus will take care of you” and I relaxed. During the ambulance ride I aspirated and died briefly. I was revived by a touch from my mother.

I know that small voice. Trust it.

This one is so encouraging. He walked that dark tunnel for us, praise Him, praise Him. Did I say, I love this one.

I love how you wrote out the journey of a life in faith as a beautiful, descriptive poem. It really hit home. I can’t wait to one day also make it out onto the other side of the tunnel ❤

Praise God he sees us through to the end even when we fail to follow him as faithfully as we should. Well done, Sophia Lorena!
