Success despite fewer resources and less time in hand

King David’s enemies, the Amalekites once attacked, destroyed, and took away his loved ones and everything that belonged to him. It was a ruthless, grievous, unexpected attack.

At first, David moaned. He wept. It was of no help.

Then David decided to go before God.

He didn’t complain, blame or murmur.

He didn’t blackmail God emotionally.

David knew that God deserves reverence no matter how terrible the situation looked at that moment.

So, he first honoured God with his worship. Then, he inquired from God if there was any way he could get it all back.

“Yes” God assured.

God’s Word was enough!

David prepared to fight it out, but half of his army was tired and had lost their strength.

He still went ahead with only 50 percent of the team available. Guess what happened? David won and recovered all that the enemy had stolen.

As we get closer to the end of 2020, for many it is obvious that the year brought in a lot of unexpected hardship and tears. Some of us have suffered losses. Some are still trying to make up for the rest of the year with lesser resources and lesser time to meet planned targets and needs.

At a time, such as this, we must remember that the God of David is not a respecter of any person, which means God does not show partiality towards any man.

The Lord deserves honour and reverence no matter how the day, the month or the year has been.

We must take time to listen to His Word, His instruction, His strategy of how to recover from the loss.

The faith we put in at the year-end will bring success that will carry us forward and overflow into the coming year.

May God give the grace to recover, rebuild and restore all of you reading this right now.

Sophia

Prayer:

Father God, today help me to understand that no matter how my situation looks at the moment, you are still in control, You still remain the same, my Father, my guide, my Savior,  the one who can help me to recover what I lost in the past, I honor you.

I thank you in advance for your grace that will help me to find Success despite every limitation.  In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Bible passage:

David rescued everything the Amalekites had taken. And he rescued his two wives! Nothing and no one was missing—young or old, son or daughter, plunder or whatever. David recovered the whole lot. He herded the sheep and cattle before them, and they all shouted, “David’s plunder!”

21 Then David came to the two hundred who had been too tired to continue with him and had dropped out at the Brook Besor. They came out to welcome David and his band. As he came near he called out, “Success!”

1 Samuel 30 (MSG)

Amen! God has always show His is able to do more with less…Gideon’s 300 men, five loaves and two fish, battle after battle in the old testament and ultimately Christ’s lonely stand on Mount Calvary to offer redeeming salvation for ALL who come to Him!
