A daily dose of God’s touch in a minute…

Friday Promise

You shall not miss that good thing

KFC

When I was expecting my second child, we had to relocate countries. I was filled with nagging thoughts. What if I don’t find a good hospital and a good doctor? What if I must manage with no house help? What about finances? And then they don’t have KFC there, at that point I was a big fan of KFC.

For seven months after we moved to the new place I prayed with great discipline. It was a time of engaging in spiritual warfare. A time of spending time reading the Bible and putting faith into the Bible scriptures. I brought every worry, especially my delivery under the authority of Jesus. I also prayed diligently for the hospital staff, the doctors, the equipment and everything connected with the delivery.

The situation didn’t seem to change much.

I continued to face health challenges and issues that could easily make me step back from persisting in faith but I knew I had to fight. And I did.

Seven months later…

God gave me favor with the senior gynecologist, who was also the owner of the hospital. She began treating me really well. Though there  were quite a few pregnancy complications, my delivery went well and we had a healthy baby girl.

 Miraculously, everything fell in place.

After the delivery, the senior gynecologist, the owner of the hospital went out of her way to waive off many of the bills without me even asking for it.  Also, during the period of settling the hospital bills, my husband’s organization changed their insurance provider and the new insurance coverage we got was double than what we would have got on the previous policy or if they had delayed changing the policy by even  a month.

Something more exciting happened.

The first  KFC joint in the state just opened. So one day, my husband surprised me with a  box of KFC chicken tucked in his bag, which I relished in place of the boring, bland hospital food.

As you’re reading this, I don’t know what kind of thoughts have been nagging you lately. Maybe  thoughts of lack and worry over different issues.

My suggestion:

  1. Bring your thoughts and concerns under the authority of Jesus.
  2. Get into reading the Bible with a lot of discipline.
  3. Remind yourself of some of the good things God did for you in the past and thank Him.
  4. Place your needs before the Lord in prayer
  5. Read  the same scriptures  again and again until you begin to believe what God has promised in His Word is for you.
  6. Get serious with spiritual warfare. Don’t be passive on this one.
  7. Do the above consistently and with an expectation to see God supply for your needs.

You shall lack no good thing. This is a promise for you from the Lord. Receive in faith.

Have a great weekend,

With love,

Sophia

Bible scripture:

Psalm 34:10 (KJV)

The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

I just finished writing about God’s Big Picture Plan for us (but I didn’t state it quite that way). I hope my thoughts bring as much comfort and reassurance as yours did to all of us.
