A daily dose of God’s touch in a minute…
King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels[f] of gold went into each shield. 17 He also made three hundred small shields of hammered gold, with three minas[g] of gold in each shield. The king put them in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon.
1 Kings 10 (New International Version)
I read this verse for the first time years ago and it took me by surprise; so much of gold and silver, all the shimmer and glimmer described in the Bible? Wow! As for me, that verse revealed a glimpse of an inheritance from God the Father that was spiritually rich, financially prosperous and dazzling in appearance.
Through that verse, I loved that glimpse of the kingdom of God presented vibrantly in abundance and joy.
In the 22nd chapter of Mathew, Jesus talks about a parable in which the king is delighted to throw in a celebration in honor of his son and invites people to join in the party.
I don’t think any Father delights in the sulking and moaning of his children?
And here we are talking about God the Father, talking about a celebration in honour of His son; no pressure here and no pretense, only a celebration of love.
In psalm 150 the Psalmist sings his praises to God; his praise involves a melody of multiple instruments, that’s his way of honoring the Lord.
When I read all those wonderful scriptures; to me personally, all the merry making and the dazzling pomp of Christmas falls in line with the joy of celebrating a gift as wonderful as Jesus. I like to believe Jesus loves to see us happy and celebrating.
Hope you are having a fun filled, love filled and a dazzling Christmas season.
Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.
Matthew 22:9 New International Version (©1984)
In Psalm 150 the psalmist praises his God; his praise involves a choice of many melodious instruments as a way of honouring the Lord.
Praise him with trumpet sound;
Praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance;
Praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals;
Praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord
