A daily dose of God’s touch in a minute…
And Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes so he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
2 Kings 6:17 New International Version (©1984)
Prophet Elisha’s servant was overwhelmed. Fear and anxiety surrounded him “Alas my master” he cried out in fear.
Thank God there was a prophet around; the prophet never runs out of prophecy and Elisha had one for his servant ‘Fear not, for they that be with us are more than they that be with them’
The reason the servant was overwhelmed at his circumstances was because what he saw was through natural eyes where problems seem real and big and so he knew he could not fight against it on his own.
On the contrary the prophet was calm and surprisingly still had something to prophesy, this prayer warrior prayed for his servant’s eyes to open; The Lord answered and now the servant saw things differently, like Elisha himself, from the eyes of faith like a prophet sees, like a prayer warrior sees.
Lo and behold, the servant saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire to their rescue, the prophet was right.
Faith had found help.
