“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come; buy wine and milk without money and without cost.
Isaiah 55:1 New International Version (©1984)
Not always does the Bible speak of discipline and sin or Holiness. The word of God is full of thrills and fun and excitement and new things. The gospel is so lovely to ponder on, after all it’s the good news and good news comes so that we may celebrate, rejoice and feel free to have some fun.
In the gospel of Mathew, Jesus gives an example of little children. He loves the way they come not on their own righteousness but the way they are, messy hands, curious questions, innocent expressions; happens at Sunday school. They come just the way they are, they come and have fun, they come not harping on the mistakes they made last week. They pray and ask because they want something.
They come because they know they are loved.
Like little children ask and receive because the price has already been paid, the table has been laid, to feast on.
The lord invites us to come the way we are to experience some adventures under his protection and guidance, set everything aside to come in his presence to just have some real fun.
Would you accept his invitation today?
