A daily dose of God’s touch in a minute…

Ready to elevate?

Grassy meadows

Ordained to be  King, was going to be no mean task for David the youngest of the children of Jesse. From spending time in the green meadows to the luxury of a Royal Palace, the shift was going to be hard. And that with the challenge of every evil force up against allowing the event to take place, not an easy task to contend with.

The first challenge came at home being rejected when Samuel was sent to anoint the King. Jesse, David’s very own father did not see it fit to present David before Samuel and chose to introduce him at the end.
The attacks followed right up to his work place ; at the fields and meadows where he nurtured the sheep he encountered fights with the bear, the Lion and the attacks went on to the next level; a Philistine Giant.

The challenges went on from temptation to sin and many of the challenges harsh enough to want him to give in and give up.
But David had a strong heart. Impressive! so impressive that God Himself called him ‘The man after my own Heart’.
With every challenge David enquired of the Lord and fought a good fight with a strong heart and the Lord elevated David to be a king with class .

Ready to elevate? Keeping a strong heart and God’s counsel always works.

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him (David’s brother). The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

So he sent for him( David) and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features.
Then the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.”
1 Samuel 16 : 7 ,12 (NIV)
