A daily dose of God’s touch in a minute…
In the wedding of cana the hosts ran out of wine. Jesus was present at the wedding reception. Probably the hosts had very little idea that there was a guest with miraculous powers, perhaps his presence was not that significant until Mary ‘s conviction told her it was no ordinary presence, he had the gift of making miracles and Mary was convinced her faith could unleash one.
Jesus began his instructions to the servants and they followed his instructions ( with no questions asked) right from filling out the jars with water to drawing some out; ‘voila’ the wine was ready, better than the wine that was served before so much so that the master of the banquet complimented the bridegroom for it.
There was a need for a miracle, there was a maker of miracles but may be without someone approaching hi m with enough faith and conviction, there could only be disappointment , usually happens in life when something goes wrong despite the whole elaborate planning, in this case it was a wedding reception. And then there was faith filled Mary proposing a miracle with a lot of conviction.
What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
John 2: 11 (NIV)
The miracle working potential of the savior awaits a fresh start of faith, to make the first of the signs visible to reveal his glory in each one who believes.
